Scania delivers large fleet to Estafeta to support e-commerce growth
Scania México has supplied Estafeta with 143 trucks to bolster its logistics operations amidst e-commerce expansion. The deal includes vehicles for both long-haul routes and urban distribution, aiming for increased efficiency and punctuality.
Scania México has delivered a significant fleet of 143 trucks to Estafeta, designed to support the logistics company's operations amid the growing demand from e-commerce. The deal comprises 113 Scania R460 tractor units for medium and long-haul routes and 30 Scania P320 trucks featuring a swap-body system for urban distribution. All vehicles comply with the Euro 6 emission standard.
The objective of this fleet integration is to enhance delivery punctuality, safety, and efficiency. Estafeta stated that the new vehicles will help shorten delivery windows, manage peak demand, and reduce per-shipment costs. Scania backs the delivery with a nationwide support network, including 17 branches and over 60 service points across Mexico, along with parts and maintenance contracts aimed at ensuring uptime.
María Griselda Hernández Fábregas, Estafeta's CCO and CMO, emphasized the increasing importance of environmental impact, compliance, and safety, describing it as their responsibility to achieve operational sustainability. Alejandro Mondragón, President and CEO of Scania México, characterized the delivery not as trucks, but as "certainty" to fulfill promises with greater safety, better cost-efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
The collaboration between Scania and Estafeta began in 2024. This latest fleet expansion allows Estafeta to strengthen its operational flexibility, leveraging the fuel efficiency of the Scania R460 on highways and the maneuverability of the P320 in urban environments. The Euro 6 standard across the fleet also supports environmental objectives.
