Scania engineers build website for Sweden's citizenship test
Two Scania Group engineers, Ziwei Huang and Yang Xiao, have developed a website to assist with preparation for Sweden's citizenship test. The site offers free practice questions.
Scania Group engineers Ziwei Huang and Yang Xiao have developed a website to aid those preparing for Sweden's citizenship test. Previously offered for a fee by individuals, the material is now available for free through the Sverige Redo website.
Huang and Xiao, who met at Chalmers University of Technology, are now both employed at Scania. Xiao, who came to Sweden on a scholarship, joined Scania in 2017 and works in chassis development, using simulation to evaluate and improve component lifespan. Huang joined Scania in 2019 and works in connected vehicle data and digital services.
Xiao initially created the website to help his wife prepare for the citizenship test. "It became my way to contribute and support her a little," Xiao stated. He noticed that several websites were charging for practice questions, prompting him to create a free alternative.
While Scania is known as a manufacturer of heavy vehicles, this project highlights the broader expertise of its employees. Huang and Xiao aimed to provide a resource that supports newcomers to Sweden in their integration and facilitates the citizenship process. The website is now available to anyone preparing for the Swedish citizenship test.
