Scania extends digital services to mixed-brand fleets

Scania has introduced its Complete Fleet concept, allowing transport companies to integrate all their vehicles and trailers, regardless of brand or type, into the company's digital services. This move aims to address the complexities of modern haulage, where fleets often comprise vehicles from multiple manufacturers and utilize various power sources.

The Complete Fleet approach provides access to Scania's digital services, including positioning, tachograph data, performance reporting, and service planning, for every vehicle and trailer in a customer's fleet. This coverage extends to combustion engine vehicles, as well as gas, biofuel, battery-electric, and plug-in hybrid models.

Scania states that the new concept will offer fleet owners enhanced visibility, control, and energy efficiency across their entire operations. The company acknowledges that many customers operate mixed fleets, including different truck brands and trailer types, which have historically posed challenges for integrated management.

Previously, transport companies often resorted to retrofitting third-party telematics systems or managing separate, brand-specific factory-installed systems. Scania describes these methods as inefficient and costly, potentially leading to increased vehicle downtime. The Complete Fleet concept is designed to simplify and streamline fleet management by offering a unified and scalable solution.

Andrea Wetterberg, Acting Head of Service Portfolio and Delivery at Scania, commented that Complete Fleet represents the company's ongoing commitment to supporting customers through system compatibility. She highlighted that providing a unified digital service with consistent data across all brands and trailer types offers transport operators greater transparency, safety, cost-efficiency, and energy savings for their entire fleet.
