Scania hosts transport forum to address scaling of sustainable logistics
Over 400 stakeholders gathered in Paris to discuss how to accelerate the shift from pilot projects to large-scale sustainable transport deployment.

At the Sustainable Transport Forum in Paris, industry leaders, policymakers, and transport operators focused on the urgency of scaling existing low-emission transport solutions. While previous industry debates questioned the feasibility of such technology, the current focus has shifted entirely toward implementation and infrastructure development.
Climate scientist Valérie Masson-Delmotte noted that the research phase is largely complete, shifting the burden of progress to scaling and policy execution. Participants emphasized that sustainable transport is now inextricably linked to broader economic goals, including industrial competitiveness and regional energy security.
Scania CEO Christian Levin highlighted that while the necessary solutions are available, the transition remains hindered by a lack of cross-sectoral collaboration. Industry voices called for greater long-term policy certainty, unified incentives, and a coordinated approach to infrastructure, particularly regarding electric vehicle charging networks.
The consensus among participants was that the era of feasibility debate is over. The sector is now focused on the mechanics of rapid adoption, with stakeholders acknowledging that a coordinated effort across the value chain is required to meet climate goals.
