Scania Invests $15 Million in Chile to Mark 30 Years

Automaker Scania is marking its 30th anniversary in Chile with a $15 million investment plan aimed at strengthening its infrastructure, spare parts availability, and technical service network nationwide. The program, initiated in late 2024, will extend through 2026.

Investments will be distributed across key regions. In 2024, $3 million was allocated to enhance operations in Concepción and Santiago Sur. For 2025, $10 million is planned for facilities in Antofagasta, Temuco, and Los Ángeles. The remaining $2 million in 2026 will focus on bolstering Scania's presence in Coquimbo.

"We are betting on Chile with these investments, which will allow us to improve spare parts availability, optimize operating times, and continue offering first-class technical service to transporters across the country," said Ignacio Urcelay, president of Scania Chile. He added that improved service increases transporter productivity by minimizing vehicle downtime.

Scania, part of the Traton Group, has operated in Chile since 1994. The company states its commitment to driving efficiency, safety, and environmental impact reduction in the transport sector through technological advancements and alternative fuels. Scania Chile operates 16 service centers and employs over 450 professionals.
