Scania Launches New Generation Scania Touring Coach

Swedish manufacturer Scania has unveiled a new generation of its Touring coach, marking a significant update to its long-distance bus offering. The new model incorporates a contemporary exterior design, enhanced aerodynamics, updated driver and passenger environments, and the company's efficient Super powertrain platform.

The updated Scania Touring builds on the reliability of its predecessor while introducing a modern look and improved functionality. The exterior has been redesigned for better aerodynamics, contributing to reduced energy consumption and lower noise levels. Digital rear-view mirrors are included to further decrease air resistance and aid maneuverability.

Inside, the driver's area features improved visibility and an updated digital Smart Dash interface, which includes navigation and reverse camera compatibility. Passenger comfort has been addressed with redesigned seats, ambient lighting, and increased luggage capacity, both in overhead compartments and the main cargo hold.

The new coach utilizes Scania's Super powertrain, which the company claims offers an 8-10% improvement in fuel and emissions savings compared to previous versions, along with a 25% longer lifespan. Scania also highlights easier maintenance and improved parts availability as key benefits for operators seeking to maximize vehicle uptime. The company plans a phased rollout, with an electric variant expected to follow.
