Scania launches new generation trucks in Latin America

Swedish manufacturer Scania officially introduced its new generation of trucks to Latin America in August 2018. The launch event, held at Scania's Latin American headquarters in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, was attended by more than 4,000 employees. This regional debut completes the global rollout of the new truck generation, which has already received acclaim and awards in Europe.

Leading up to the regional launch, two of the new trucks embarked on a journey across four countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. During this tour, the trucks made stops at dealerships for customer and employee events. One truck also visited projects focused on sustainable transformation, which were documented in a web series beginning October 29, the official regional launch date.

Christopher Podgorski, President and CEO of Scania Latin America, stated that the company is committed to driving the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions. He emphasized that transforming the world requires collaboration and highlighted that the new generation offers cost-effective and sustainable solutions tailored to customer needs. Podgorski expressed confidence that Latin America will respond positively, mirroring the success and increased sales seen in Europe following the new generation's introduction.
