Scania launches new SEK 2 billion venture capital fund

Scania is launching its second venture capital fund, Scania Growth Capital II, capitalized at SEK 2 billion (approximately EUR 175 million). The fund will continue the strategy of its predecessor, focusing on promising B2B technology companies in areas such as mobility, connectivity, autonomous driving, electrification, and sustainability.

The first fund, Scania Growth Capital I, invested in nine companies, including an early seed investment in the German logistics unicorn sennder. Scania Growth Capital II will be managed by East Hill Equity, which has experience in B2B venture capital investments and offices in Stockholm and Berlin.

This new fund aims to provide portfolio companies with not only capital but also access to Scania's extensive industrial and technological expertise. The partnership model is designed to support the growth and development of these companies by leveraging resources from both the venture fund and the multinational corporation. The objective is to identify innovative tech firms that can complement Scania's business and advance its strategic goals.
