Scania Opens New Sales and Service Branch in Kuching, Malaysia

Scania Malaysia has inaugurated a new sales and service branch in Kuching, Sarawak. Located in the Demak Laut Industrial Park, the facility is strategically positioned to improve service accessibility within the heart of the state's transportation network. This opening marks Scania's second presence in Sarawak state, following its branch in Bintulu.

The establishment of the new branch is a response to customer feedback and represents a further investment in expanding the company's service network in the region. As Scania approaches its 50th year in Malaysia, the Kuching branch brings the total number of dedicated workshops across the country to 12, aimed at meeting national public and cargo transport demands.

The Kuching facility is led by Phang Yee Fong, Regional Manager for the East Region. The workshop features three bays equipped with diagnostic tools and necessary equipment for servicing trucks, buses, and coaches. Scania's regional parts center in Asia, located in Singapore, ensures parts availability for customers in Sarawak.

Scania highlighted its comprehensive range of vehicles and services, including the New Truck Generation and its XT model, designed for demanding environments. The company offers service and maintenance contracts, roadside assistance, parts, data-driven fleet management, driver training, and financial services, all intended to improve customer uptime and total operating economy.

The company also continues to explore sustainable transport solutions, including renewable fuels and electrification in Sarawak. Marie Sjödin Enström, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, indicated a focus on strengthening partnerships to promote sustainable solutions aligned with the region's natural environment.
