Scania Production Angers to Assemble Electric Trucks
Scania has selected its production facility in Angers, France, as a future assembly site for electric trucks. The move is supported by the French 'Choose France' initiative aimed at boosting industrial investment.

Swedish truck manufacturer Scania has designated its Angers production facility as the future assembly site for its electric trucks. This strategic decision positions Scania Production Angers as a key component of the company's European electric vehicle manufacturing network.
The move aligns with Scania's broader strategy to lead the transition towards sustainable transport. Previously, electric trucks were assembled at Scania's Södertälje plant in Sweden. This expansion of assembly capacity in France will significantly enhance Scania's production capabilities for electric trucks across Europe.
The project receives support from France's 'Choose France' initiative, which aims to attract and foster long-term industrial investments. This backing highlights the competitiveness of the Angers site, its infrastructure, and the expertise of its workforce.
Scania plans to invest over €68 million in the transformation of the Angers plant. By 2029, the facility is expected to be capable of assembling both combustion engine and electric trucks on the same hybrid production line. The transformation work is slated to begin in the summer of 2026. This development is intended to accelerate the decarbonization of heavy transport and support a sustainable European logistics sector.
