Scania R660 Offers Smoother Ride and Improved Fuel Economy

Helsinki, Finland – Kojak Oy, a company specializing in earthmoving and infrastructure construction, has implemented a new Scania R660 model that has proven more economical and comfortable to drive compared to its previous fleet. According to CEO Reijo Laurén, the new model's enhanced powertrain reduces fuel consumption by nearly ten liters per hundred kilometers.

Kojak Oy has undertaken significant projects in road and infrastructure construction in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The company specializes in demanding conditions, such as tight urban sites and difficult terrain. Laurén has relied on Scania's V8 engines for over 20 years, but the new R660 model has brought tangible improvements.

"The average consumption decreased by almost ten liters per hundred compared to the old fleet. Additionally, the new Scania feels better to drive. It operates more smoothly, and the gearbox is smarter," commented driver Jyrki Saarinen, who primarily transports loads from a stone quarry to the capital region. Tire pressure monitoring and the new G33 gearbox have also received praise.

Laurén also emphasizes the efficiency of Scania's aftermarket services. The service, available evenings and weekends, ensures vehicles are quickly returned to operation. So far, the new R660 trucks have required minimal maintenance despite challenging operating conditions.

The new R660 models are also equipped with radar and cameras that enhance safety, particularly in urban environments with high volumes of light traffic. The camera can also assist in monitoring the load and ensuring the trailer is emptied properly after tipping.
