Scania Reports Record Sales and Improved Profitability

Swedish heavy vehicle manufacturer Scania has reported a strong financial performance for 2024, marked by record sales and improved profitability. The company's annual and sustainability report, released today, details its financial, social, and environmental performance over the past year.
Scania Group's net sales grew by 6 percent to SEK 216.1 billion, with adjusted operating income reaching SEK 30.4 billion. Vehicle deliveries increased by 6 percent to 102,069 units. Revenue from the service business saw a 3 percent rise, although order intake for vehicles decreased by 4 percent to 81,012 units.
During the fourth quarter, net sales decreased by 4 percent to SEK 57.4 billion. However, adjusted operating income rose to SEK 7.7 billion. Vehicle deliveries were down 3 percent, but order intake for the quarter increased by 10 percent.
Scania also reported significant progress in its decarbonisation efforts. Operational emissions have been cut by 47 percent, aligning with its 2025 target. Emissions from vehicles in use (Scope 3) have decreased by 12 percent, and Scania is intensifying efforts to reach its reduction goal. New targets for 2032 include a 50 percent reduction in operational emissions and a 45 percent cut from vehicles in use.
