Scania Super Wins 2024 Green Truck Award
Scania Super has been named the 2024 Green Truck of the Year in a German comparative test. The victory returns the title of most economical long-haul truck to Scania.
Scania has won the 2024 Green Truck award in a professional test conducted in Germany. The Swedish truck manufacturer won the test multiple times, reclaiming the title for the most economical long-haul truck.
The test measures fuel consumption, average speed, AdBlue consumption, and vehicle weight. The Scania Super model's 460 R version achieved the best overall result. According to the manufacturer, the model offers approximately 8% fuel savings compared to previous generations, enhancing transport efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
"Winning the Green Truck Award competition demonstrates our ability to provide the best overall solution on the market for our customers," said Stefan Dorski, head of Scania's truck business. "Our Scania Super powertrain was introduced in 2021 and brought performance and fuel economy to a new level."
The competition has been organized by German trade magazines Trucker and VerkehrsRundschau since 2011. Scania has won the award nine times out of the 14 competitions held, making it the most successful brand in the event's history. This year's winner achieved a fuel saving of 0.41 liters per 100 kilometers compared to the runner-up, translating to an annual saving of over 600 liters for a long-haul truck driving approximately 150,000 kilometers.
