Scania to series-produce Longline cab

Automaker Scania is beginning series production of its new Longline cab. This cab combines Scania's CrewCab and S-series high-roof cab, providing significant extra space and flexibility for transport industry customers. The new model will be offered as a low-volume, factory-certified solution.
The Longline cab will be produced in Laxå, Sweden, and built on chassis manufactured in Södertälje. Scania describes the offering as a natural evolution of a concept appreciated by customers, merging heritage with modern industrialization. The cab is designed as a flexible platform, allowing for customized interior solutions based on specific client needs.
Initial interior configurations from the factory will be limited, including options like a standard bed with storage or a more open layout. Clearly defined mounting points are intended to facilitate further customization by customers. Scania will also offer premium paint options in collaboration with a Swedish custom painter, aiming to reduce lead times before vehicles can be put into operation.
The Longline concept stems from market demand and a focus on improving driver conditions. The increased space is intended to help companies attract and retain drivers, a significant challenge in the transport sector. The cab's interior height exceeds two meters, offering standing room for most drivers. The cab is available according to European IVD legislation, permitting longer vehicles. Initial deliveries are expected in autumn 2026.
