Scania to Supply 110 Electric Trucks to Einride

Vehicle manufacturer Scania has signed an agreement with transport solutions provider Einride for the supply of 110 fully electric trucks. Deliveries are set to begin in the second half of 2022, and the deal represents Scania's largest order for electric trucks to date. The agreement underscores both companies' dedication to the electrification of heavy transport.

Einride, a company specializing in digital, electric, and autonomous transport solutions, is significantly expanding its fleet with this acquisition. The company already operates Europe's largest fleet of fully electric heavy-duty vehicles. The Scania trucks will be customized to Einride's technical specifications, with their unique Saga operating system ensuring efficient and optimized electric transport.

As part of the collaboration, Einride will share data generated through the Saga platform with Scania to facilitate ongoing product development. Ellen Kugelberg, Chief Product Officer at Einride, highlighted the importance of these new vehicles for the company's European expansion. "We are joining forces with renowned industry players like Scania to drive innovation and product development within the global transport industry," Kugelberg stated.

Fredrik Allard, Head of e-Mobility at Scania CV AB, views the agreement as a significant milestone. "We share the same vision for decarbonizing heavy transport. Collaborating with Einride to develop new technological solutions and digital services has been rewarding," Allard commented.

All 110 electric trucks are expected to be operational across Europe starting in late 2022 and early 2023.
