Scenic Ikon Ultra-Luxury Expedition Cruise Ship to Launch April 2028

Scenic is preparing to launch its latest ultra-luxury expedition cruise ship, the Scenic Ikon, in April 2028. The vessel aims to blend world-class expedition capability with sustainability, culinary excellence, and an all-inclusive guest experience.

The Scenic Ikon will accommodate just 270 guests, providing an intimate and spacious atmosphere. It features 135 all-verandah suites, ranging from 34 to 250 square meters. Built to Polar Code 6 and Ice Class 1A Super standards, the yacht is designed for comfort and capability in diverse environments, from polar regions to warmer waters.

For deeper exploration, the yacht is equipped with two Airbus helicopters, a submersible, Zodiacs, and luxury tenders. Onboard amenities include 15 dining venues, diverse lounges, and social spaces. The ship also features a spa, a fitness center, and wellness facilities.

Construction is underway at Scenic's in-house shipbuilding division, MKM Yachts. The inaugural voyage from Venice in April 2028 is already sold out, with strong interest in the first season. The maiden season, running from April 2028 to March 2029, will visit 110 ports across 21 countries, with itineraries spanning the Mediterranean, Egypt, and further afield to regions like Antarctica and the Chilean Fjords.
