Schlage Sense Pro smart lock supports Matter and hands-free unlocking
Schlage's new Sense Pro smart lock is the company's first to support Matter-over-Thread technology. It also enables hands-free unlocking via ultra-wideband (UWB) as users approach the door.

Schlage has introduced the Sense Pro, a new smart lock featuring support for the Matter-over-Thread standard and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology for automatic unlocking. This release marks Schlage's entry into the Matter ecosystem and its first product with advanced hands-free operation.
The Sense Pro utilizes UWB to unlock the door automatically when an authorized user approaches. The company reports this method as faster and more reliable than previous hands-free systems reliant on geofencing and other radio technologies, stating it is the first such system they fully trust.
Priced at $399, the Sense Pro is also Schlage's first smart lock designed without a physical keyhole. It integrates with Apple Home Key, with planned support for Google and Samsung via the Aliro platform. The inclusion of Matter aims to simplify connectivity and interoperability with a wide range of smart home devices from various manufacturers.
With the Sense Pro, Schlage seeks to advance its position in the smart home security market by offering integrated and convenient solutions. The focus on Matter compatibility is key to enabling a more unified and user-friendly smart home experience.
