Schneider Electric Unveils Digital Airport Solutions
Schneider Electric has launched its IoT-enabled platform, EcoStruxure for Airports, offering end-to-end digital solutions for building future-ready, energy-efficient airports.
Schneider Electric has introduced its EcoStruxure for Airports platform, providing a comprehensive suite of digital solutions aimed at constructing airports that are both future-ready and energy-efficient. The offerings are designed to enhance airport safety, energy efficiency, and reliability while reducing operational costs and improving the passenger experience.
The platform utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) to create an integrated system that offers a holistic view of airport operations. This integration is intended to improve decision-making, enhance control, and optimize operational efficiency. A key objective is also to reduce the carbon footprint of airports and help them achieve environmental targets.
According to Schneider Electric, the new solutions facilitate cost savings through better energy management and the integration of intelligent sensors, such as those in lighting systems. Increased automation is expected to reduce the need for manual intervention and potentially create new revenue streams through improved landside management.
The company has also acquired RIB Software SE, a specialist in digital technologies for the construction industry. This acquisition aims to bolster collaboration in airport construction, leveraging RIB's technologies, including its 5D BIM platform and AI, for project design and execution. The use of digital twins is intended to help predict infrastructure performance and optimize construction processes for greater cost and energy efficiency.
