Scholars Network and UHS Partner to Address Student Debt for Healthcare Workforce

Scholars Network and healthcare system United Health Services (UHS) have announced a new partnership aimed at alleviating student loan debt and strengthening the future healthcare workforce. The initiative will provide financial support and career pathways for students preparing for critical roles.

The "Gateway Scholars Student Loan Repayment Program" offers significant loan repayment assistance to enrolled students who commit to joining UHS and meet hiring criteria upon graduation and licensure. Eligible roles include Registered Nurses, Radiologic Technologists, Clinical Laboratory Technologists, and Doctors of Physical Therapy, with loan repayment amounts up to $50,000 over three years.

This program is being introduced amidst a national shortage of healthcare professionals, as health systems face increasing demand for nurses and allied health professionals. By reducing the burden of educational debt, the program aims to attract and retain talent in essential healthcare positions.

Scholars Network will also administer other benefits designed to reduce student loan debt and encourage retention. UHS stated the partnership helps strengthen the workforce for tomorrow while ensuring community access to care.
