Electronic component manufacturers SCHURTER AG and CAP-XX have initiated a strategic technology partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The collaboration aims to develop new supercapacitor products and solutions to meet evolving market demands.
The agreement combines the companies' expertise in passive electronic components and energy management systems. This partnership is expected to yield substantial benefits for both entities and their customers, who will gain access to new, competitive products and application-specific solutions.
Lars Stegmann, CEO of CAP-XX, stated that the partnership complements CAP-XX's capabilities and will deliver added value to customers. SCHURTER AG CEO Lars Brickenkamp highlighted that the collaboration marks a new era of innovation and the delivery of customer-beneficial solutions.
Supercapacitors offer significantly higher power density and faster charge/discharge rates compared to batteries. Their long cycle life makes them suitable for applications requiring frequent switching, such as data retention or power delivery in electric vehicles.
