Scientology Network Documentary Follows Musician Mark Isham's Creative Process

The Scientology Network's "Signature Performances" series will debut a new documentary titled "Mark Isham: The Voice Within" this October. The film offers an intimate look at the creation of the latest album by Grammy and Emmy-winning trumpeter and composer Mark Isham.

This marks Isham's first new album in 15 years. The documentary follows the artist into the legendary Mad Hatter Studios, where he blends electronic synthesis with performances by a curated ensemble of master musicians to craft a sound that pushes the boundaries of his work. In the studio, Isham reflects on the project's challenges and expectations, with behind-the-scenes footage documenting creative risks and breakthroughs throughout his musical journey.

The album features a selection of accomplished musicians, including drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, vocalist Ayo Awosika, guitarist Nels Cline, and bassist Kaveh Rastegar. Their collaboration enhances the layered complexity of Isham's electronic compositions, bringing them to life through ensemble performance.

The film also explores Isham's extensive career, spanning over four decades and encompassing more than 400 film and television projects, including his Academy Award-nominated score for "A River Runs Through It." Isham has also collaborated with numerous prominent artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Joni Mitchell, reflecting his broad influence in the music industry.
