Scimplify Raises $25M for AI-Driven Critical Materials Production

Indian startup Scimplify has raised $25 million to scale its AI-powered approach to producing specialty chemicals and critical materials. The funding is intended to help manufacturers reduce their reliance on Chinese suppliers, targeting key growth markets such as semiconductors, defense, and energy.

The funding round was led by Hitachi Ventures, with new investors including Henkel and Teknor Apex. Existing backers Accel India, Bertelsmann India Investments, Omnivore, and 3one4 Capital also participated. Scimplify's valuation post-investment is reported to be $250 million.

Scimplify's technology utilizes artificial intelligence to optimize and accelerate the development and production of new materials. This allows for the streamlining of complex chemical processes, thereby shortening lead times for bringing products to market. The company states its annualized revenue run rate has tripled to $200 million, signaling substantial growth.

The investment will support Scimplify's efforts to strengthen global supply chains and offer alternatives to traditional manufacturing methods. The company aims to address the increasing demand for localized and supply-chain-resilient materials worldwide.

Scimplify, which has previously secured significant funding, plans to use the new capital to expand its operations in the United States and other key markets. The goal is to provide localized production solutions and support the growth of the manufacturing sector.
