The Scleroderma Research Foundation has announced that its recent Cool Comedy • Hot Cuisine event generated nearly $1.1 million in funds. This significant fundraising total supports the foundation's mission to advance research into scleroderma, a chronic autoimmune disease.
During the event, held in the United States, the Bob Saget Legacy Award was presented to actor John Stamos in recognition of his contributions. Colleagues from his "Full House" cast were present to honor him.
Attendees were entertained by performances from comedians Fortune Feimster, Matt Friend, Ron Funches, Jay Pharoah, and Lisa Ann Walter. Jeff Ross served as the evening's host, with special guests including Seth Green and Howie Mandel. John Stamos also made a surprise appearance at an auction.
The funds raised will be directed towards critical research efforts aimed at understanding, treating, and ultimately finding a cure for scleroderma, benefiting patients worldwide.
