Seatrium completes seven FSRU vessel conversion program for Karpowership

Singapore, September 24, 2026 – Seatrium Limited and Karpowership marked the departure of the LNGT Türkiye from Seatrium's Admiralty Yard, concluding a seven-vessel conversion program. This marks the seventh and final Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) delivered under the agreement, which began in 2018.

The program involved transforming seven Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers into FSRU units. The completed fleet, comprising LNGT Africa, LNGT Asia, LNGT Europe, LNGT Antarctica, LNGT Americas, LNGT Oceania, and LNGT Türkiye, will support Karpowership's integrated "LNG to power" value chain.

These seven FSRUs will operate alongside Karpowership's global fleet of Powerships, supplying clean and reliable gas fuel to the floating power plants. The conversion of each LNG carrier into an FSRU required complex integration of cryogenic, marine, and gas handling systems, enhancing energy security and grid access flexibility across four continents. The LNGT Türkiye project is particularly significant as Karpowership's last project at the Admiralty Yard before its planned decommissioning by 2028.
