Torgeby is scheduled to leave his roles as President and CEO, and as a member of SEB’s Board of Directors, on October 6, 2026.
Jonas Ahlström, currently Deputy President and CEO, has been appointed acting President and CEO, effective upon Torgeby's departure. The board has initiated a process to find a permanent successor for the CEO position. Torgeby has led the bank during a period of significant industry changes.
During his tenure, Torgeby focused on business development and customer relations, steering the bank through a complex operating environment. The board expressed appreciation for his leadership and contributions to SEB’s strategic direction and transformation efforts.
The bank has not yet specified a timeline for the appointment of a permanent CEO. Ahlström's experience within SEB is expected to ensure continuity in the bank's operations and strategic execution during the transition period.
