Sebela Pharmaceuticals presents Phase 3 data for GERD drug Tegoprazan

Sebela Pharmaceuticals presented positive results from a Phase 3 study in the U.S. evaluating Tegoprazan for the treatment of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD). The company announced the findings, alongside a separate study analysis, at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) 2026 Meeting.

Tegoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), demonstrated improvement in key symptoms for NERD patients, including heartburn and regurgitation, in the study. The Phase 3 TRIUMpH-NERD trial was randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled, assessing both 50mg and 100mg doses of Tegoprazan.

According to the study, Tegoprazan significantly improved the percentage of 24-hour heartburn-free days and reduced nighttime heartburn days during a four-week treatment period compared to placebo. The drug showed an effect from Day 1, with improvement continuing through a 20-week extension phase.

An accompanying ACG Presidential Award-recognized analysis of erosive esophagitis (EE) demonstrated Tegoprazan's efficacy compared to lansoprazole in GERD patients. Sebela Pharmaceuticals continues to advance treatments for GERD, addressing the unmet needs of millions of patients.
