Second World Humanoid Robot Games Open
The second World Humanoid Robot Games have opened in Beijing, featuring over 2000 robots and 666 teams competing in 51 events.

The second World Humanoid Robot Games commenced today in Beijing. The event, running until August 26, will host over 1300 competitions across 51 categories, attracting 666 teams and 2056 robots.
This year's competition includes new, high-intensity events such as long jump, weightlifting, tug-of-war, and table tennis. These additions challenge the robots' cognitive abilities, structural integrity, and core components, pushing the boundaries of engineering and precision manufacturing.
International participation is robust, with teams from 16 countries, including established robotics nations like the United States, Germany, and Japan. Domestically, a significant number of entries come from Chinese companies and academic institutions, highlighting the country's focus on advancing robotics.
The scope of the games has expanded to include scenario-based competitions simulating real-world applications in industrial, hotel, domestic, and logistics environments. A particular focus is on dexterity tasks, such as picking up small objects and tightening screws, with many events featuring direct robot-versus-robot matchups.
