secunet and ServiceNow to develop sovereign cloud environment for German public sector

secunet Security Networks AG and ServiceNow are partnering to provide an AI-driven, sovereign cloud service tailored for highly regulated German government and military entities.

1 November 2026

secunet Security Networks AG and ServiceNow have announced a partnership to deliver cloud-based digital workflows tailored to the specific security requirements of the German public sector and military. Announced at the Smart Country Convention in Berlin, the collaboration aims to provide a sovereign cloud environment where organizations can utilize ServiceNow’s AI platform.

Under the agreement, secunet will act as an authorized Sovereign Partner Cloud Provider, managing the platform within its own German-based data centers. The infrastructure is being designed to handle information classified as VS-NfD—the German classification for "for official use only." By maintaining local control over operations and access protocols, secunet intends to bridge the gap between adopting advanced automation and meeting strict regulatory data requirements.

CEO of secunet, Marc-Julian Siewert, stated that the service addresses the need for digital sovereignty by ensuring modern technology remains under the client's own control. Robert Rosellen, Country Manager for ServiceNow Germany, noted that the platform will enable critical process automation within the legal frameworks mandated for the public sector.

The service is scheduled to launch in 2027.
