Secunet Security Networks AG Reports Record Results for 2021
German cybersecurity firm Secunet Security Networks AG announced its 2021 financial results, with group revenue increasing to €337.6 million and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reaching €63.9 million.
Secunet Security Networks AG, a German cybersecurity company, has reported its financial results for the 2021 fiscal year, marking another period of growth. The company's group revenue rose by 18% to €337.6 million, compared to €285.6 million in the previous year. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 24% to €63.9 million, up from €51.6 million.
Both of secunet's business segments contributed to the positive development. The Public Sector segment, which serves government clients and international organizations, saw revenue grow by 17% to €278.1 million, with EBIT reaching €57.4 million. Growth in this segment was driven by strong demand for its SINA product family and pandemic-related additional procurements of secure mobile workstations.
The Business Sector, catering to private companies and the healthcare industry, experienced a 23% revenue increase to €59.5 million. This segment achieved a positive EBIT of €6.5 million, a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of €-2.2 million, largely due to the strong performance of its secunet konnektor software and services for the healthcare sector.
Secunet's order backlog stood at €185.2 million as of December 31, 2021, a 24% increase year-over-year. The company proposes a dividend of €5.38 per share, including a special dividend. While anticipating supply chain challenges, particularly with semiconductors, secunet confirms its revenue and EBIT forecast for 2022.
