Secunet's SINA Cloud Receives Approvals for Classified Information
Secunet Security Networks AG's SINA Cloud infrastructure solution has obtained initial approvals for handling classified information (CI) up to the GEHEIM (SECRET) level by German authorities.
Secunet Security Networks AG has achieved a significant milestone with its SINA Cloud infrastructure solution, receiving initial approvals for the handling of classified information (CI) up to the GEHEIM (SECRET) level. The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has approved two of the three components within the SINA Cloud Security Layer.
This marks the first cloud infrastructure solution in Germany to be approved for classified information, aiming to enable authorities and organizations with high security needs to leverage cloud transformation. The solution integrates seamlessly with existing SINA installations.
The SINA Cloud is built on open-source components, including the OpenStack platform, and its security architecture employs encryption technology also used in Secunet's SINA IT high-security solution. It is designed to be scalable and flexible while maintaining compliance with German regulations for classified information (VSA).
Initially, SINA Cloud will be available as an on-premises solution for customers' own data centers. Starting in the second half of 2025, an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering will also be available, operated within Secunet's and its subsidiary SysEleven's data centers, reducing operational burdens for clients.
