Alexander McQueen announced on Thursday that Seán McGirr will be departing from his role as Creative Director. McGirr joined the fashion house in 2023, tasked with shaping a new chapter while honoring the legacy of its founder, Lee Alexander McQueen.

Kering, the luxury group that owns Alexander McQueen, indicated that the departure signals a move toward a new creative direction for the brand. "Our ambition is to establish a bold new direction for the House, building on its unique heritage of exceptional tailoring, uncompromising creativity and rebellion," said Kering CEO Luca de Meo.

McGirr expressed gratitude for his tenure, stating, "I am incredibly proud of the progressive energy we cultivated as a team, anchoring our creativity in contemporary culture." He described his vision as grounded in the "interplay between raw, visceral, human beauty and the precision and rigor at the heart of the House."

The fashion house is expected to announce its new creative leadership soon. McGirr's departure comes after three years in the role, marking a transition for the renowned British luxury brand known for its tailoring and avant-garde designs.
