Senckenberg Museums Announce New Fall 2025 Exhibitions

Senckenberg's natural history institutions in Frankfurt, Dresden, and Görlitz are set to unveil new exhibitions throughout the fall of 2025, deepening public understanding of Earth's biodiversity and ancient life. These initiatives aim to highlight ongoing scientific research and discoveries.
The Senckenberg Naturmuseum Frankfurt will open "Ganz schön warm hier! Leben und Sterben in Messel" on December 5, 2025. This exhibition will delve into the ancient ecosystem and fossils of the Messel Pit, dating back 47 million years, offering insights into prehistoric life.
In Görlitz, "Deutschlands Bodenschätze" will launch on October 3, 2025. The exhibition will showcase Germany's mineral resources, including rocks, industrial minerals, metals, and energy commodities that have been extracted within the country.
Later in the season, Dresden's Senckenberg Museum will present "iNuversumm – Raum und Zeit für Insekten" starting November 1, 2025. This exhibition is dedicated to exploring the intricate world of insects, their physical structures, and life cycles.
Established as a significant research entity, Senckenberg investigates the Earth's system dynamics and biodiversity. With a collection exceeding 45 million specimens, it ranks among the world's largest natural history archives. The centers also host regular scientific lectures and guided tours, such as those focusing on the Messel Pit UNESCO World Heritage site.
