The Senckenberg Centre for Biodiversity and Climate Research in Frankfurt am Main is seeking a Scientific Coordinator for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Task Group on Data Support for Climate Change Assessments (TG-Data). The position, available on a full- or part-time basis, is a temporary role for two years, commencing as soon as possible.

This key role focuses on coordinating data and knowledge governance within the IPCC's assessment processes concerning climate change. The Scientific Coordinator will support the Co-Chair of TG-Data in implementing the work plan and activities. Responsibilities include coordinating interactions among IPCC Working Groups, Technical Support Units, data partners, and the Secretariat to ensure coherent data and knowledge management.

Tasks involve organizing and documenting meetings, workshops, and webinars, as well as preparing technical reports and briefing materials for an international expert audience. The role also encompasses supporting outreach and capacity-building activities related to climate data. The coordinator will represent TG-Data and Senckenberg at relevant national and international meetings and conferences.

Candidates require a Master's or PhD in natural sciences, environmental sciences, climate science, or data science. Experience in scientific or policy processes, particularly in international and interdisciplinary contexts, is essential. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with excellent written and spoken English, are necessary. Applications are due by July 5, 2026.
