SenseTime Launches SenseMart OS for Retail Operations
SenseTime has unveiled its SenseMart OS, a physical operating system designed to connect robots and equipment, aiming to enhance retail operations and bring embodied intelligence into commercial settings.

SenseTime launched its SenseMart OS on September 23 at its Shanghai headquarters, positioning it as a physical operating system for the retail sector. The system is designed to integrate diverse robots, retail equipment, and business operations, offering companies a solution for more automated and replicable brick-and-mortar retail.
The SenseMart OS aims to move embodied intelligence beyond demonstrations into practical commercial environments. It enables robots to perform tasks such as retrieving products based on customer orders. The system supports four core capabilities: perception, interaction, decision-making, and execution, with SenseTime planning to expand its application to other offline service industries.
According to SenseTime, the system allows a single employee to manage three to five stores, significantly reducing staffing needs per location. The company has already successfully piloted the technology in over 20 SenseMart Go robotic stores across several Chinese cities. Return on investment is projected within 6 to 12 months for strong locations.
The system leverages retail data, including visual, transaction, and inventory information, along with voice interaction, to improve robot performance and customer experience. SenseTime emphasizes that the development of models and data through real-world deployment is key to advancing embodied intelligence.
