Sentante's CE-Marked Robot Platform to Gather Data for AI
Sentante has received CE marking for its robotic platform for endovascular procedures. The system is designed to collect precise force and motion data, aiming to build a foundation for AI-driven interventions.

Lithuanian medical robotics company Sentante has obtained CE marking for its new robotic platform intended for endovascular surgery. This certification allows the system to be used in clinical settings across Europe, facilitating the collection of data crucial for developing artificial intelligence in medicine. Sentante aims to establish a data foundation for the next generation of intelligent vascular interventions.
The Sentante system is engineered from the outset to capture detailed force, torque, device kinematics, and time-aligned fluoroscopy data during every procedure. The company posits that such comprehensive data is essential for training systems to accurately assist physicians in complex vascular interventions, contrasting this with systems they believe have over-relied on imaging data while neglecting crucial force measurements.
"The next wave of technology is physical AI: systems that can sense, act and operate in the real world," stated Edvardas Satkauskas, CEO and co-founder of Sentante. He highlighted that a lack of data has been a significant constraint in endovascular surgery, a problem Sentante's platform seeks to address by gathering rich and precise information from expert procedures.
Unlike many other robotic systems, Sentante's platform mimics the surgeon's manual movements, providing authentic haptic feedback directly to the user's hands. This ensures that the captured procedural data reflects the clinician's actual skill, not just controller movements. The company has conducted a transatlantic remote thrombectomy on human cadavers and an extensive animal study, both contributing to the system's dataset.
Sentante's CE-marked system integrates with existing cath-lab infrastructure and supports peripheral vascular interventions. The company is proceeding with the commercial rollout of the system in Europe, planning to gradually introduce AI-assisted features as the dataset matures. The latest-generation robot was developed in collaboration with NVIDIA.
