Sentinel Capital Partners, a private equity firm, announced the sale of Autronica Fire and Security, a division of its Spectrum Safety Solutions platform, to MSA Safety for $555 million. MSA Safety is a global leader in safety products and technology.

Autronica, headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, designs and manufactures fire, gas, and alarm systems for critical infrastructure, energy, and maritime applications. The company holds numerous certifications for harsh environments, focusing on protecting life, the environment, and property.

Sentinel acquired Autronica in 2024 from Carrier Global Corporation as part of a carve-out that created Spectrum Safety Solutions. During Sentinel's ownership, Autronica expanded its global commercial organization and product portfolio. This sale is part of Sentinel's strategy to focus Spectrum Safety Solutions on its U.S.-based detection and monitoring businesses.

Earlier this year, Sentinel also agreed to sell Spectrum's Marioff unit, a provider of water mist fire suppression solutions, to private equity firm Inflexion. These divestitures allow Spectrum to concentrate on its U.S. operations, Det-Tronics and Fireye. The acquisition is expected to enhance MSA Safety's position in the global market.
