Kang Bo, a vice president at Seres Group, stated that Chinese luxury car brands will need time to earn acceptance in the European market due to demanding standards. "European consumers and local luxury car standards are very demanding. However, we believe we will ultimately succeed," Kang Bo told The Wall Street Journal.

The company's luxury electric vehicle brand, Aito, announced earlier in October its intention to enter the European market by autumn 2027. Aito aims to achieve a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP prior to its launch.

Chinese automakers have been increasing their presence in Europe, with several brands showcasing models at recent auto shows. However, competition is significant from established European and Asian manufacturers.

Kang Bo's remarks highlight the challenges Chinese companies face in establishing themselves in the premium segments of Western automotive markets. Building trust and meeting local expectations are critical factors for long-term success.
