Chinese automaker Seres experienced substantial gains in its stock price on both Shanghai and Hong Kong exchanges during trading on Friday. The A-shares reached their daily upper limit, with reports suggesting the company's international expansion plans are influencing investor sentiment.

The A-shares surged in the afternoon, closing at the upper limit of 51.24 yuan per share. Trading volume reached 2.64 billion yuan, bringing the company's market capitalization to nearly 89.3 billion yuan.

In Hong Kong, Seres shares rose by over 15 percent, trading at 39.18 Hong Kong dollars per share. The total trading volume amounted to 352 million Hong Kong dollars, with the market value exceeding 68.2 billion Hong Kong dollars.

The upward movement was further fueled by news that Seres' Aito brand intends to enter the European market by 2027. The company has initiated the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval process for this expansion. Aito models are expected to be showcased at the Paris Motor Show in 2026, including its SUV offerings.
