Serval launches AI agent Catalyst for enterprise automation
Serval releases its AI agent Catalyst, enabling proactive identification and resolution of IT issues before they are ticketed.

Serval has made Catalyst, its AI agent for building enterprise automations, generally available, empowering teams of AI agents to identify and construct automations.
Catalyst acts as an administrative "super agent" atop Serval's AI-native service management platform. It analyzes ticket history, standard operating procedures, and natural language instructions to identify recurring tasks. The agent can then draft necessary workflows, skills, forms, access policies, journeys, and dashboards to automate these processes.
Serval also uses Catalyst to create background agents that continuously monitor connected systems for potential issues. These agents propose fixes before an employee submits a ticket. This proactive approach differentiates Serval from competitors focusing more on AI-assisted workflow creation.
Competitors like ServiceNow, Atlassian, and Freshworks have also developed similar AI tools for workflow automation. Serval's differentiation lies in Catalyst's ability to discover automation opportunities, build multiple governed automations, and create proactive agents as a unified management layer.
Serval co-founder and CEO Jake Stauch highlighted that Catalyst can generate enterprise-grade workflows to address tasks like company-wide password resets from a single prompt. The agent integrates with systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Entra, generating the necessary code for these actions.
