Servier finalizes acquisition of Edgewise Therapeutics' muscular dystrophy business

Suresnes, France – July 13, 2026 – Servier, an independent international pharmaceutical group, announced today the completion of its acquisition of Edgewise Therapeutics Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EWTX) muscular dystrophy business. The transaction is valued at up to $2.65 billion, including an initial payment of $1.55 billion and potential regulatory and commercial milestone payments totaling $1.1 billion.

The acquisition bolsters Servier's strategic focus on rare neurological diseases by integrating sevasemten, a therapy candidate in late-stage development. Sevasemten is currently being studied in a pivotal cohort for Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) and in a Phase 2 study for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

Servier stated that this move supports its ambition in rare neurological diseases and integrates Edgewise Therapeutics' expertise to advance sevasemten's development. Olivier Laureau, President of Servier, highlighted the company's mission to bring precision therapies to patients with rare and devastating diseases.

Kevin Koch, Ph.D., President and CEO of Edgewise Therapeutics, commented that Servier’s commitment to patients and its global capabilities make it an ideal partner to advance the muscular dystrophy business. He expressed confidence that Servier can unlock the full potential of sevasemten for individuals with BMD and DMD.

The acquisition received necessary regulatory approvals and met customary closing conditions.
