Swedish wood products company Setra Group AB announced an improved financial performance for the second quarter of 2026. The company's operating profit reached SEK 15 million, a notable turnaround from the SEK -60 million loss recorded in the corresponding period last year. This result also represents a significant enhancement compared to the first quarter of 2026.

Net sales for the quarter amounted to SEK 1,579 million, an increase from SEK 1,442 million in the second quarter of 2025. According to Setra, the improved result is attributed to falling timber prices and increased internal efficiency within the company's operations. Investments in operational improvements have begun to yield positive returns.

However, Setra noted that the anticipated price increase for sawn wood products has not materialized. This is due to continued market uncertainty and a weak economic climate, which have suppressed demand. While internal efficiencies have boosted the bottom line, external market factors have limited price recovery.

The company indicated that it will continue to focus on cost management and operational enhancements to navigate the current market environment. Setra aims to maintain its competitive position within the wood products industry by adapting to market conditions.
