SGS Opens New Petrochemical Lab in Jiujiang
SGS has opened a new petrochemical testing laboratory in Jiujiang, China, expanding its analytical and compliance support for chemical businesses in the region.

SGS has inaugurated a new petrochemical testing laboratory in Hukou County, Jiujiang. The facility expands SGS’s analytical and compliance support for chemical-sector businesses in central China.
The facility was formally inaugurated on July 2. The new laboratory strengthens SGS’s petrochemical testing network in China and adds capacity for customers in northern Jiangxi, eastern Hubei, and southwestern Anhui.
Hukou is located in Jiujiang, an important industrial and logistics area along the Yangtze River. The region has a significant port-based petrochemical cluster, driving demand for laboratory services that can support quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and trade-related requirements.
The new laboratory will offer testing services for petrochemical and fine chemical companies, including product-quality analysis, trade compliance support, and testing related to import-export customs clearance. The facility is expected to contribute to the development of a more efficient, safe, and sustainable petrochemical industry in the Hukou port area.
