SGS Renews Jet Fuel Testing Contract for Hong Kong Airport

SGS has renewed its long-term agreement with ECO Aviation Fuel Services Limited (EAFS) for the management and operation of an on-site jet fuel testing laboratory supporting Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). This contract extends a partnership that began in 2015.

EAFS operates the Permanent Aviation Fuel Facility (PAFF), which receives, stores, and transfers the jet fuel used at HKIA. SGS's laboratory, located opposite the airport, provides 24/7 inspection, sampling, testing, and quality control services before fuel is transferred through dedicated pipelines.

The laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, ensuring compliance with global aviation fuel standards. SGS stated that the contract renewal reflects over a decade of reliable service. EAFS General Manager Sylvia Har highlighted the strong cooperation between the companies, while SGS Vice President Arjan Praat reaffirmed the company's commitment to on-site laboratory services.

SGS's services are critical for ensuring the safety and quality of the jet fuel supply chain, from production and storage to aircraft loading. The company indicated that its team's responsiveness, technical expertise, and customer focus help EAFS maintain confidence in fuel quality throughout the storage and distribution process.
