Shafi Goldwasser to Lecture on AI Trustworthiness in Munich

Professor Shafi Goldwasser, a renowned pioneer in cryptography and recipient of the ACM Turing Award, will lecture in Munich on October 20, 2026. The event, titled “A Cryptographic Perspective on Machine Learning Trustworthiness Challenges,” will explore how cryptographic methods can enhance the trustworthiness of machine learning.

Goldwasser, with an extensive academic background including positions at MIT, UC Berkeley, and the Weizmann Institute of Science, has made significant contributions to cryptography and interactive proofs. She is applying principles from cryptography, which have historically ensured the reliability of digital systems against adversarial assumptions, to the domain of machine learning. The aim is to secure the entire ML pipeline.

The lecture is scheduled to take place at the Plenary Hall of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Munich at 6:00 PM. This event is part of the Munich AI Lectures series. The talk will be delivered in English and will also be available via a YouTube livestream, requiring no prior registration. Further inquiries can be directed to events@baiosphere.org.

The event is organized by BAIOSPHERE as part of Munich's AI initiatives. Goldwasser's work has been recognized with two Gödel Prizes, and she is a member of numerous prestigious scientific academies.
