Shandong HiTHIUM begins long-duration energy storage production rollout

Shandong HiTHIUM has initiated production at its long-duration energy storage (LDES) integrated industrial park in Heze, China. The company announced the production rollout at a ceremony held on August 7 in the Heze Luxi New Area, positioning the facility as a key site for scalable LDES delivery.

The industrial park is designed to advance the development and manufacturing of LDES technologies. These systems are crucial for integrating intermittent renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, into the grid by storing energy over extended periods to balance supply and demand.

According to Shandong HiTHIUM, the new Heze base will significantly enhance its manufacturing capacity and streamline its supply chain. This expansion is intended to meet the growing global demand for energy storage solutions as countries work to decarbonize their energy sectors.

While specific details regarding the investment scale or projected output have not been disclosed, the Heze facility represents a significant step towards the industrialization and widespread deployment of long-duration energy storage.
