Shanghai Electric involved in world record biometanol bunkering operation

Shanghai Electric participated in a world-record biometanol bunkering operation for vessels on August 17. The company, in partnership with Shanghai International Port Group and CMA CGM Group, completed the delivery of 8,000 tonnes of biometanol, surpassing previous records for such a supply.

This operation represents a significant step in the maritime industry's transition towards low-carbon fuels. Biometanol offers an alternative to traditional fossil fuels and can substantially reduce emissions from shipping.
