Shanghai Electric has secured its first overseas order for a heavy-duty gas turbine, contracted for Unit 3 of the Sarawak Samalaju Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project in Malaysia. This achievement signifies a significant expansion for the company within the high-end energy sector on the international stage.
The project, with a total capacity of 500 MW, is a key energy infrastructure development in Malaysia. Shanghai Electric will supply an advanced 500 MW gas turbine, engineered to enhance power generation efficiency and reduce emissions.
In addition to the equipment supply, Shanghai Electric will manage the installation, commissioning, and after-sales services for the turbine throughout the project's lifecycle. While the company has previously supplied power equipment domestically, this new contract strengthens its foothold in the global energy market.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but the contract is expected to contribute to the company's international growth and competitiveness in the global energy sector.
