Shanghai Electric Showcases AI-Integrated Robots and Smart Factory Solutions

Shanghai Electric unveiled a portfolio of AI-integrated robots and AI-native smart factory solutions at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026). The showcase included humanoid robots with 41 degrees of freedom and pipe inspection robots with an accuracy of ±1 mm.

The company presented solutions tailored for high-end equipment manufacturing, addressing challenges such as confined spaces and precise manipulation tasks. The offering comprised a comprehensive range of robotic systems, core components, and AI-driven factory solutions.

Among the featured robots was the bipedal humanoid robot "SUYUAN," designed for inspection, material handling, and assembly tasks. Also on display was the wheeled industrial robot "TUOYUAN," capable of tasks like connector insertion and automotive parts sorting and loading.

Shanghai Electric also launched 51 AI models and agents under its "StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing" series, covering R&D, production, and maintenance. These are integrated into robotic systems for decision-making and smart factory operations. The company also released a white paper on AI-native smart factory technology, outlining an architecture for real-time production data optimization.
