Shanghai Electric unveiled its comprehensive portfolio of embodied AI robots and native AI-powered smart factory solutions at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2026 (WAIC 2026). The company presented advanced robotics, including humanoid robots with 41 degrees of freedom, precision pipe inspection robots with millimeter-level accuracy, and 51 industrial-grade AI agents.

Under the theme "AI for All: Smart Squad, Shining Without Limits," Shanghai Electric highlighted its capabilities in embodied AI robots, core robotic components, and native AI smart factory solutions. These offerings span fully robotic systems, critical components, industrial software, and smart factory architectures designed for complex industrial environments.

"The true value of embodied intelligence lies in understanding real-world production tasks. By combining the robustness, precision, and stability of machines with human experience and judgment, we create a genuine 'machine-to-machine-to-human' collaboration paradigm," said Wang Chunlei, Deputy General Manager of the Robotics Division at Shanghai Electric Automation Group.

The company's robotics portfolio addresses five key industrial scenarios, including connector installation, electrical operations, flexible sorting, intelligent assembly, and pipe handling. The showcased robots include the SUYUAN bipedal humanoid robot for enhanced mobility, the TUOYUAN wheeled humanoid robot for tasks like connector insertion and handling sheet metal parts, the Mermaid bionic wheeled robot capable of identifying and interacting with controls, and an autonomous pipe inspection robot designed for confined spaces with high precision.

Shanghai Electric also featured its core component offerings, such as a planetary roller screw with superior load capacity and the DexHand biomimetic robotic arm for diverse gripping needs. The company launched 51 AI models and agents within the StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing series, covering R&D, design, production, operations, and maintenance. These agents are integrated into smart factory decision-making and operational algorithms, transforming industrial expertise into digitized, reusable capabilities that support production line planning, quality inspection, and predictive maintenance.
