Shanghai Electric Showcases AI Robots and Smart Factory Solutions
Shanghai Electric unveiled a range of AI-integrated robots and smart factory solutions at the WAIC 2026 conference. Products included humanoid robots with 41 degrees of freedom and high-precision pipe inspection robots.
Shanghai Electric showcased its latest AI-integrated robotics and smart factory solutions at the Shanghai World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026). The company presented its offerings under the theme "AI for All: Smart Team, Shining Without Borders," highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence into manufacturing equipment.
Among the featured products were the "SUYUAN" bipedal humanoid robot with 41 degrees of freedom, suitable for inspection and material handling tasks, and the "TUOYUAN" wheeled humanoid robot capable of tasks like connector insertion and sorting in the automotive sector. The company also displayed the "Mermaid" bionic robot and an autonomous pipe edge-chamfering robot designed for confined spaces with millimeter precision.
Shanghai Electric also presented a portfolio of key robotic components, including a planetary roller screw and the DexHand manipulator. The company launched 51 AI agents within its "StarCloud" series, covering areas from R&D to production and maintenance. These agents are integrated into robotic decision-making systems and support processes like production line planning and predictive maintenance.
The company also released the "AI-Native Smart Factory Technology White Paper," proposing an active development architecture for intelligent factories. This architecture enables real-time optimization of production data and equips factories with self-perception, self-decision, and self-execution capabilities. The system comprises an AI factory brain, an execution network of industrial agents and robots, and a digital twin, creating an integrated, data-driven production environment.
